The new heart of the city is Lonsdale Quay which is adjacent to the Sea bus Terminal at the foot of Lonsdale Street. This attractive planned development includes a waterfront park; town house and apartment units; head offices of ICBC and B.C. Rail, numerous retail outlets; and the Quayside Plaza office building. Also part of the Quay is a multi-level waterfront market with specialty shops, boutiques, restaurants, market stalls and a hotel.

With more than 80 shops and restaurants, the Quay offers fresh produce, seafood, meats, dairy, flower stalls and baked goods in an indoor-outdoor market stall setting. Watch ships come and go in the harbour from the observation tower or nearby Waterfront Park. Perhaps the North Shore's most visited gathering place.

LYNN VALLEY VILLAGE

Close to magnificent park areas, Lynn Valley Village offers an excellent assortment of shops and services for the convenience of all Lynn Valley residents. One of the natural beauties to be explored, Lynn Canyon Park has 617 acres of pristine coastal temperate rain forests. There is a spectacular canyon and suspension bridge as well as miles of hiking trails for all levels.

DEEP COVE VILLAGE

Considered the "hidden secret" of Vancouver, the quaint village of Deep Cove features a fine selection of restaurants, a cultural center comprising of an art gallery and live theatre as well as select and unique gift shops and the most relaxing scenery you'll find anywhere. Peace and picturesque quiet in this seaside village that has grown from a collection of cottages to a prime residential area. Local artisans show and sell their creations in local shops.

Deep Cove is a starting pint for hikes along the Baden-Powell Trail that traverses the North Shore to Horseshoe Bay , as well as canoe and kayak jaunts on Indian Arm. The shores of the Cove are the gateway to B.C.'s newest Provincial Park in Indian Arm- a 14 mile pristine fjiord. Rent a canoe or kayak for a few hours and enjoy the tranquility of this unique area with its sheltered waters. Motor boats and private fishing charters are also available.
